Man, that Bryan Beller is a monster bass cat. He really lays bedrock for the guitar players. Now, this guy's non-locking tremolo (Charvel San Dimas) and his general feel is very jazzy, but his technique blows my mind - in a different way - but in much the same as Yngwie...
Yngwie, Yngwie, Yngwie... Extremely talented and virtuosic guitar slinger. But everytime he does those high kicks, I just want to kick him in his little huevos...I have to say that I absolutely LOVE early Yngwie....before he became so eccentric...the solo kicks off at 2:03, but the staccato phrasing in the rhythm section has incredibly difficult timing. His tone here is also VERY GOOD to be coming from a 25.5"/single coil guitar.

Ah yes! Mr. Guthrie Govan. Another one of my favorites. The man can play just about any style and do it proficiently. Down to Earth type of guy, and has a great sense of humor. I was very fortunate to meet him at the 2009 Winter NAMM, where he was there to promote Cornford Amps. Now, this guy's non-locking tremolo (Charvel San Dimas) and his general feel is very jazzy, but his technique blows my mind - in a different way - but in much the same as Yngwie...
For those of you who have never played one, that's an original non-locking Floyd Rose AND they use to come on Charvel's with a lock nut WITHOUT fine tuners and they stayed in tune. Floyd himself told me that the addition of fine tuners greatly disrupted the tuning stability of the Floyd Rose...

Best we gander from a distance![]()
Guthrie is quite good, except for when he is playing 10,000,000 meaningless gnat notes. Now, this guy's non-locking tremolo (Charvel San Dimas) and his general feel is very jazzy, but his technique blows my mind - in a different way - but in much the same as Yngwie...

That is the same way I feel about all those crazy shredder types, big fan of Trower, and Gilmour, for those reasons, but a Michael Schenker is what I want to play likeGuthrie is quite good, except for when he is playing 10,000,000 meaningless gnat notes.
When he does that, the only thing he is saying is "look how many notes I can put in here!".
He doesn't need to do that and I feel it actually takes away from his otherwise tasteful playing.
