Kennis and Shane discuss Gibson quality

Technically that is a stout, so in a different league to those Aussie "beers" (the vast majority of which are lagers and served at near freezing temperatures thus rendering them devoid of taste).
Java, most of those Ausisie beers are served ice cold so you CAN'T taste them and some of the actually have no taste so you may as well drink them ice cold!

Some might say that the beers used to taste better in the old days but recently their quality has become hit and miss. But I'm not sure if that argument holds any truth.

I'm rather happy to say I didn't click on any of the above links.
They say don't knock it till you have tried it but ... NO, I aint gunna go down the "Metal Up Your Ass" road :-(

You know what they say.........................once you go Metal.....you cant get credit.

Have you drank much of it. 5%alcohol/volume is normal strength, anything less we call "making love near the river" (or f_cken near water). Drop by, I'll sink a dozen for breakfast with you. Cheers

A few over the years; I spent 4 months in Darwin drinking from dusk til dawn, then moved onto the East coast for a few more months then 6 months in Sydney - tried many different beers, much of it good.

Onto the Belgian stuff nowadays for lunch/dinner.

I guess Betty won't be trying any Red White and Blue or Pabst Blue Ribbon any time soon.

Cool, someone to drink with that has experience. You know the funny thing is the beer that got international exposure, Fosters is among the worst here. & yes, its served cold, usually between 2 & 3 degrees Celcius, & for good reason. British drink it at room temperature, but their summer is colder than a lot of this country's winter. Here we can see 42 degrees C (107.6 F) at 8 O'clock in the morning. Room temperature beer here would taste like hot camel piss, not to mention the alcohol would start evaporating out of it at our daytime temps. Cheers

Its why people drink beer from dawn til dusk, the heat & humidity of the top end. Cheers

Itsa Dry Heat? Robert

Not always....Check out the humidity indicator on the left and termperature on the right - Photo taken July 14, 2014 in Palm Springs, California...

Shop Temp July 14, 2014 (1).JPG

They say the high levels of humidity in Palm Springs is due to the heavy irrigation required to make things grow out there...

I should add that not all of this country see extreme temperatures, the east & west coastal areas for the most part don't, exept maybe the most northern areas & we do have colder areas in the winter months that'll see freezing temperatures & snow. But in the central regions during the long summer, even down south in SA we can get ridiculous heat, & them damn flies. But I believe the US has area's that see the same sort of condition's,as Robert posted, but you guys drink beer cold too I believe. Cheers

Yeah, you're right.

& another funny thing was the worst beer you export is Castlemain XXXX - terrible, but the stuff in Aussieland is totally different and tastes really nice.

I've consumed considerable amounts of XXXX over the years, didn't know the exported stuff was different. Makes you wonder what the marketing guys were thinking. And you're right Robert, the more you have the better it tastes. Cheers
