Just starting today

With my HO scale trains, I would first see if anything had been written up in Model Railroder, if not then it would be Diesel Era magazine, for photos, and close ups of different locations, then tracking down the correct parts to build it as close as I could, Trains magazine was also a major help.

Thanks very much John. It is a lot of work that goes into this hobby. But its so gratifying! I cant tell you really how I feel when I get to the field and get ready for a flight. To get outdoors in the warm sunshine hear the roar from the engine and see that plane fly, man I just get a thrill just thinking about it. Building the plane gives great satisfaction, to go through the process from start to finish. To watch the progress I make as the plane is being built. The painting , covering, installation of electronics etc etc. And each plane fly's and handles like their full size brothers. And to be able to put the plane through its paces and see what the plane is doing and seeing the colours. Its a Total BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first pic is a unfinished unit, the name on the side of the locomotive may sound familiar, but in model railroading we called it a freelance line, me and a couple on my buddies made up the paint scheme, history, and unit numbers.
This what I did to keep from going nuts, when I wasn’t playing guitar.
Once again Norm, I did not mean to hijack your thread brother.
Mitch

No worries Mitch, Model railroading is a great hobby. Liking your locomotives very cool. You can go into depth with this hobby as well. Its a very good thing to have hobbies especially when you retire. I always tell the young guys to get into a hobby while you are young so you have that when you do retire. The thing is some guys have hobbies , but so many they never become skilled at. I have 2 and that's enough, i'm still working at becoming skilled in them.
