Just Saw this VOX MV50 for the 1st Time...

Why not get a unit thet is just for power - a true"amp" as opposed to guitar amp -ie one with no preamp section. I fear that even the clean version of the VOX will color your tone. Seriously, beware.

See now, to jump to the theme of your other thread, if you could not afford an amp as described above, THAT would be a reson to sell a guitar based on the cost benefit (marginal return) of another guitar compared to a stellar amp for that awesome Kemper. It is too big of an inevesment not to make it shine. While I think you were wise not to purchase the included 500w amp (good golly!), I think it would be unwise to sacrifice quality in this amp purchase. Also, I think that you SHOULD have an amp to power this thing. It needs to speak out loud!!!

This is just for fun...who knows it may go back???

The Kemper does an outstanding job with the FRFR Speakers and both the ones I have are top quality units.

You should ask V_1 and Relic about this, really.

I don't want to create the idea that I am a know-it-all. I'm not. I do like valves and valve amps. Most are far more expert than me, though.

But, if the idea is to amplify a Kemper, or other processor, the preferred idea is not to use a guitar amplifier, as RVA alluded.

It is generally preferred to get some sort of professional FRFR amplifier and speaker. A guitar amp and speaker will color the sound. An FRFR amp and speaker will color the sound less and preserve more of the native sound of the patch you've built.

That is only my opinion.

You are correct and I agree. I do have two very compatible FRFR powered solutions in the Mission Engineering Gemini I and the Line 6 Stage Source.

I'm buying the VOX pure and simply for goofing around with just because. I will run it into my 4x12 cab both through the Kemper and straight into the VOX from a guitar
just to see how it sounds. If it doesn't work through the Kemper it can be an amp for the 4x12. If it sounds bad in that configuration it can be returned.
