Just like a junkie jonesing for a fix...

I have been curious about the Katana series. The only reason I never picked one up was that so many used ones are for sale on FB for pretty cheap. Which makes me think there is something wrong with them and people generally dont like them.
They aren’t that expensive new. But I understand your trepidation with so many up for sale. Most times that’s a red flag.

279$ brand new shipped from Sweetwater. Not overly complicated.dont need a computer to run it although there is a Katana tone lab app. No buyin pedals ,no drive pedals,no worrying about over priced Klons and rabbit holes like that. Most of ya all are like me wouldnt know a Trainwreck amp or a Klon if it bit me in the ass and i dont care about them. Im gonna go out on a limb here and guess most of ya all dont gig out and dont need 100 watt stacks in you bedrooms/ living rooms.O mean why to take pictures of ones self with them.Ya did all that years ago. This Boss Katana 50 watt combo i forget its on for a couple days sometime. Heres a new concept i turn it on and play it.No tubes,no bullshit, just play it.12 inch speaker to.this thing has the best slap back echo and delay ive ever hear.No need for million dollar pedals.

@iblive AND @JohnnyGoo It's not the cost, and I know all the features and the different models out there. As I said it caught my attention especially when the MKII models came out. What has me puzzled is how many there are for sale on the private second hand market. Not only are they for sale, but some look to be practically brand new and they are going for way under list from the store. I'm looking at one on FB market as I type this,100w mkII. still has the labels on it for $250, and another 50w with footswitch for $200. the listings go on and on. And those are only the ones within 25miles of me.
But the 2 people I know who own one love them. (JohnnyGoo you are one of the 2).
It just seems odd.

This is mostly a personal choice there live evel. I dont gig out,im old, its way over powered for the living room.i run it on the 1/2 watt setting all the time. Its just a convenience .I dont look for pedals or the sort.Although a do enjoy seeing what people pay for Klons,Trainwrecks,Dumbles ,ect.Hey if ya got the doh be my guest. I like all that stuff to.I just dont need it. My favorite drive pedal was a 200$ when it come out was a Boss Metal Zone 2.lol. old green big muffs,Ratts,T-S 9s,ect tgose all work great and dont have to morgage the house to buy. I loved tge Orange Micro terror i used to own.i gave it to my grandaughter.

None of the above for me. I have my 20W Traynor and my wife's 5W Fender. I generally don't use either. Plug into my Boss Gt1 multi-effect and plug in headphones. I have fun and my wife doesn't have to listen to how bad I am. ;)

The Boss Katanas are like a oversized multi effects prosseser with a built in speaker. I personally dont need real tube amps and the such. They got the Kempers,Katanas,Yamahas ,Spark Grids ect down to a science. All just a personal choice. This is what just suiets me.

OK now...

My new Yamaha THR10II arrived today! I just got off work, opened the box and now I'm getting ready to have dinner with my wife before ignoring her for the rest of the evening and spending all my attention to my SGJ and THR10II.

Was just talking to an old buddy in Toronto the other night with a THR... he loves it... said it works pretty OK with a bass too, which I am kinda sceptical of.
He added don't discount what an excellently powerful Bluetooth speaker it is too.
I have a Yamaha high gain THR10x. Sounds absolutely killer. Records from headphone out and has a wide stereo sound. Super cool amp.
