Only reason i both knew what Allis Chalmers was and the fact they are largely orange, is i got drunk one night and watched RFD-TV and it was a tractor auction with those in it. I have no idea how i even got to that channel but it happened and i was invested for some reason. Learned what Minneapolis Moline was too lmao

Oh you amateurs. Worked in tractor/combine/construction equipment dealers for about 35 years. I have been around all those brands plus a dozen more. Spent most of my life in rural western Illinois. Lots of friends were from farming families. Even did a little work for said friends. Bail hay. Scoop pig poop.

Not that I’m bragging. It was a job. It put food on the table. Would probably have rather worked doing something else….. but it’s the hand I ultimately got dealt. Along the way I got pretty good at it. (Parts dept)

Hey Blink. The dealerships I mentioned were CaseIH dealerships. Our catch phrase was…. “Nothing runs like a Deere…. Or smells like a John.” But I love you anyway.

Truth. You have a good tractor. I just worked for the competition. We learned early on when selling our brand, you didn’t talk down the competitor. Didn’t tell the farmer JD tractors were junk….. since he could very likely have several in the shed. You’ve now just insulted the guy.

Edit: 8N Ford may have been the coolest tractor I ever ran. Fun and almost impossible to kill. Believe me. I tried!

Kubota makes good stuff. The brand we sold and rented the last tractor shop I worked at. Tractors. Mini excavators. Did not know Kubota made a skid steer.

These are the ones I’m most familiar with. Made late 90s into middle 2000s. Used one while clearing timber to build our house. I had fun!!

Did you know that 80% of all John Deere tractors are still in the field? The other 20% made it back to the barn.

It’s funny I worked at a CaseIH dealership. And the only tractor I ever actually drove in the field in anger was a good friends JD 4430. Chisel plowing. It was also fun.

Dont worry C grin i see plenty of Kabota stuff round here but all the big Farm stuff is John Deere.I mean this is the grain capitol round here and there is some HUGE and crazy lookin equipment round here.
