Just for the record:

I'm a bit annoyed my current record player can't play 78s. I have an small stack of old 78s my dad gave me. They used to belong to my grandparents. They played them back in the 30s and 40s, before they got their first "hi-fi" system.

We had stacks of old 78 jazz records.
Some were close to 1/4" thick.
Dad got tired of moving the heavy crates full of records, he likes to buy a new house every 5 or so years.
So he left them in my cousins basement in the late 70's.
Basement flooded a couple times, records mildewed and were just abandoned.
So sad...

But on the bright side, I turned him on to YouTube and now he can "watch" his favorite tunes anytime he wants.

But in keeping with Ghar's original comment. I'm 59, and I was born in 59 o_O
I find that amusing.

Speaking of records. While looking for the music book that had Take It To The Limit in it earlier today, I found this. It's a flimsy 45 sized 33 that came with a Learn How to Play Lead Guitar book from the 70s.

Ah, the old flexi discs! I remember when Guitar Player used to have one of those in each issue.

There is a disc like that by Elvis that came in a TV Guide. It sells for over $50K

Do you remember when Esso gas used to give out small vinyl records. Like the one here comes Shack clear the track? Eddie Shack who used to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs. As what I am told he is my distant Cousin, how about that.
