Just curious …

I think they’re fine guitars.
I didn’t know about the SE series until I was at the 2018 NAMM show. I walked into their booth and here was this nice looking zebra wood custom. I asked the guy what they are going to be selling for and he says $849. I kept a poker face as I hadn’t seen a PRS under 2 grand at that point. Went home and googled them. Bought a zebra as soon as they hit the stores.

I don't know much on SE PRS. I did get a sale price offer 20% off SE guitars started looking ended up with a used mint 2010 Custom 24 10 top
Brazilian rosewood neck and fingerboard funny my only other PRS Custom 24 1991 cost the same price new.
I had no idea it was a rosewood neck until I opened the case the bad it had a 14K bridge pickup HFS replaced it with a PRS 8.5K pickup
what a great sounding and playing guitar it's been my main player this year.

My Fiore Mark Lettieri Signature - Sugar Moon (white) is similar it seems and is a dream player. Typical Strat knob prob though.

I know on ST , the PRS SE silver sky isn’t viewed in a positive light. I’m curious about how it is viewed on tone room. Also I don’t own one .

It's not that the SS is viewed negatively,

it's that so many have realized buying a pro guitar for more money, instead of buying low end / "student" guitar, is more worthwhile.
Skip the "entry model," and go for the upscale model. You will probably enjoy the pro models more than the budget ones.

I wouldn’t call $900 guitar a beginner guitar. There are pros out there playing these models. And to a certain degree, I think the $3000 guitar is a bit of a ripoff.

I am a firm believer that you can place a POS guitar in the hands of a real player and that player will make music. Then place a $4,000 guitar into a novice's hands and it will sound like crap. I am an example of placing an expensive guitar into a novice's hands. I'll spare you the ear damage and proceed with the other side of this coin...

Here is a case in example

We also have our friend Kevy Nova playing metal on a Fender acoustic

I believe that the “high end” guitar is “high priced” because of the “high salary” of the labor, not that the labour is so much better. But, whatever you like, I am happy with what I have.
I have never tried a guitar that’s worth more than $2000

I have nothing against any guitars, people like what they like and are free to buy them....as long as they are using their own money I could care less. Personally I don't like Strats, I just don't get along with them. A Silver Sky would still be a Strat type that will not satisfy me.
