If I am not mistaken the avatar is military division patch and is worn proudly by members that have served in that unit, no harm no foul. My 2 cents

I was actually hoping the answer would be a flippant joke. Religious and political (JINGOISTIC) content shouldn’t find it’s way onto an “INTERNATIONAL” guitar forum. While members from the United States generally may consider such content benign other may not. For me to comment further would become political and not allowed here.

Before I commented I did the same searches. Regardless of the origin, PERCEPTION of the words comes over as jingoistic, flag waving, ultra right wing aggression. BUT it isn't my forum to take the matter any further. People stay on forums because they like them and move on as they wish, all good.

Well I hope that you do not let an avatar from a movie chase you away. I'm not familure with any military relationship with this logo, I've just seen it on the Punisher movies. Would you feel the same if someone had a Batman or superman avatar?

Oh no, you misunderstood my last comment. Nothing more meant than what the words say.
I haven't been posting a lot as I'm committed to a refurb of house. It's keeping me away from PC, I guess that's positive.
 
I’ve seen a few special forces operatives wear that patch on their body armor, although it was OD green and black, when my unit was training around them. But yea, that’s the punisher logo alright.

We had that slogan embroidered on our division caps in the Navy (Counter-Terrorism Unit) but it never came in the form of an actual insignia. Poor Gasket would literally die if he saw some of the squadron insignias!!!!
