Just an acoustic partner for the road

So, friends...

I'm seriously considering buying myself an acoustic for Folk songs and general plucking...Just for fun, I mean. Not to use with the band.

Lately I have been feeling the need for a steel strung acoustic for those lonely bourbon or coffee moments. A companion for the road that I don't need to plug in or bring a rig along when I'm not doing a job with the band.

I don't want to break the bank either, I'm about to get engaged and a wedding costs the wazoo.

I'm aiming at something like a Washburn Parlor. It's the perfect size and shape (I don't want a big guitar). Any thoughts?

Pics of your own acoustics will definitely be of great help too!

I had a friend once who had a Washburn acoustic. It was a full-sized dreadnought and it was a very decent acoustic. It was also the loudest acoustic I've ever heard of its size! But, that doesn't mean they are all loud.

For lower-priced guitars, you can also look at Godin, Seagull, Takamine, and Lag.

Carvin used to make some really nice acoustics. You may be able to find one used.

Taylor makes some nice, smaller guitars, but they can be pricey, as can Martin.

You asked for pics....here's mine, but it's larger than I think you're after. It's the Taylor 415-CE. It's large, full-size guitar.

Thanks a lot for your words, Tony. I am indeed quite happy. This girl is very good to me and I don't remember ever being as happy with a woman as I feel now...

As for the guitar, here's a pic

@Smitty, this simpler model doesn't have that deep V neck.

It's made in China, which made me frown a bit at first, but I liked the specs and reviews, and I wanted a cheap guitar after all so...

Be happy. There are not many who enjoy guitar like you do. It is a big part of your life and your happiness. Rock on counsel!

Thank you too, Ray. Indeed, the guitar is most of who I'm all about, though I am a late bloomer. Playing guitar professionally is probably the most pleasant thing I've done.

As always I'm late to the party.
Congrats on the engagement and the new guitar. Both great reasons to celebrate.
