They also nominated Motörhead, but only the three amigos, Lemmy, Eddie Clarke, and Philthy Phil. I think it's an insult as Phil "Whizzö" Campbell was with them for over thirty years, and Mikkey Dee for over twenty five.
Along with Whizzö and Mikkey, they should also be include Würzel, Larry Wallace, and Lucas Fox.
They also finally included the MC5, T. REx, and Thin Lizzy. It's about damn time, but I doubt they'll let any of them in.

Sadly, I’m betting it never happens. The the vast majority of people would have to be told the name of that band that did ‘that’ song. And they could care less about Leslie West. Us music nerds break down his tone and style but really Mountain didn’t have that much impact musically, so even though a band like MC5 isn’t in many people’s conscience they were at the vanguard of a burgeoning style, so have more long term relevance. IMO of course.
