So, It's the mid 70s and it's somewhere in my High School days. The only Joe Cocker song I've ever recognized on the radio was With A Little Help From My Friends. I really dug this version of the song. SNL was in its infancy. John Belushi was my favorite SNL member. I asked myself: "Why is Belushi impersonating Joe Cocker as a spaz?" Then came the SNL episode with Joe Cocker as the musical guest... Holy Mountain of Manure!!! Now I knew "Why"...

Saw Cocker open for Steve Miller around 2008 maybe. Joe's energy and performance plus his backup artists was one of the best show I ever saw.

Heck how old was he, 75? I double checked. He was 64. OMG that is only 7 years away for me now, HOLY SHEEEEITE.

Joe Cocker is one of my favorites, he had his own style, he was unique, that's what i liked about him.

Yup, it looks like Dec 23 2014, I posted this reply in an ETSG forum thread.

My sis and I went to see Joe, open up for Steve Miller band in the mid 2000's.
Phenomenal show from him and his whole ensemble!! One of the best shows I ever witnessed and no one can say he didn't give us 100% of our money's worth.

To be honest, I had no idea. I've lost so many friends from that era now, all Joe's contemporaries and friends. I met them all as a kid and learned from them as a teenager. I even got to work with some later.
