Joe B Signature Fender Amp:

Talentless hack .......................

I'm not a Joe fan, never have been, but he has ONE great talent........he has an incredible ear.

I've seen him a couple times, all lackluster performances, I've been comparing him to sounding like Eric Johnson for quite a while and he does sound like Eric Johnson and Eric Clapton and B.B.King and Albert King and Gary Moore and Leslie West and Peter Green and Larry Carlton, etc..... what I've NEVER heard him sound like is Joe Bonamassa.

And yes, he's an endorsement whore, here's just some of the things that bear's his name;

The guitar amp shield cracks me up, you can go to Home Depot or any DIY store and make one for under a hundred bucks! smh, Fail.gif

So let me see if I have this right.

A year and a half of research to make an "authentic" reissue?
I guess they misplaced the original schematics in their filing cabinet?
...and let us not forget the "original" Celestions that are in the "authentic" reissue.

The really important thing is the serial number font is the same as in the original.
It must be a royal font of some kind. Hence the "King of Amps" title.

Shouldn't the "King of Amps" title go to the original Fender Deluxe Reverb,
the most recorded amplifier of all time by a wide margin if I recall correctly?
..or maybe those original British stacks? (Nope, they were '59 Bassman clones).

If I buy this amplifier and a Silver Sky I will own 4 years of research!
Where do I sign up?

No thanks, I'll stay with my Jensen P12R loaded 1964 Fender Deluxe non reverb.

"I can't get rid of this thing. It ain't got no reverb. Give me $80.00 and it's yours".

Hear hear. I never understand the animosity that guitars players seem to have for Joe B. As a blues-rock player, well, guys, he's better than you. He also seems really down to earth, open and willing to share what he knows. He doesn't seem to pretend to be anything that he's not, he doesn't go slagging other players and he's been very successful, in essence he is the antithesis of Gene Simmons. You don't have to like his music but I'd be willing to bet any one of you would be happy to have his career.

Hmmmm...I really had to think about this. I wouldn't want his career per-se, and by that I mean he doesn't do anything that I find magical, aside from not being a fan of his genre.

I'm a really odd duck. I turned down a full time, 152 dates per year guitarist position once for Dwight Yoakam just because I won't play music I can't stand to listen too.

I wish all the success in the world to Joe B, but I have never, not even once, been able to listen to one of his works all the way through.

Now, John 5 on the other hand....

The guitar amp shield, which I saw in Buck Owen's studio in the 1970's, helps control unpotted pickup squeal...

People think I am an a$$ hole because I am so blunt.

Its clear in this case that they need to generate some hype to prepare the market.

Here is how I would approach the same situation:

"Hey, Guys...this is an awesome amp that we patterned after the old Deluxe. It's a faithful re-issue and its got all premium components. I use it snd love it. We think you will too..."

Hmmmm.....now if you are really "all that" as a guitarist, wouldn't that simple statement sell the product????

It's like the girl's who dress super provocatively - they are marketing in spite of a serious lack in other areas.

I wish Joe B continued success, but the only signature model of anything I have ever owned was my 1983 Ibanez Destroyer II DT555 - and I was 17 when I bought that...

I own 2 signature model guitars:

A Music Man Luke (Steve Lukather)
A Music Man Y2D SM (Steve Morse)

The thing is, I bought the guitars because I like the way they feel and sound.
I never paid attention to either of these Steves until AFTER I bought the guitars.

Just for the record, neither guitar does what a signature model is supposed to do.
When I play either of these guitars, I unfortunately still sound just like Tony M.

Well...if that's the kind of tone he's going for these days I guess that's his choice. But, to me, those amps sound like they had their balls chopped off.
Please go back to the Marshalls or Budda's Joe.

Blunt, but spot on, IMHO
