Look at the neck difference 1953 to 1972 they are the same fat D neck profile.

No just the angle of the photo and the 1972 neck has jumbo frets factory could be an illusion or distortion

Gotcha. bro. My Squire Classic Vibe has a 1 9/16 nut. My thick fingers prefer 1 11/16 or wider due to easier chording, but for some reason the CV Tele is very comfortable to play and yet I still feel a little cramped when playing my 1976 SG Std up by the 1-5 frets with the same 1 9/16 nut.
