Hendrix was a huge influence on me....his performances mesmerized me....it inspired me to re-create this Hendrix classic.

I think we have all been influenced by him, either directly or indirectly. He's one of those handful of artists that have left a mark on everyone that came after, and even their contemporaries. My personal favorite material from his brief career is from Band Of Gypsys - that stuff moves me.

VooDoo Chile Slight Return changed my life.
That song was soley responsible for me wanting to learn to play. IMO the intro to that song contains the most powerful sounding electric- it's what I think of when I hear "Rock Guitar:

It's the kind of thing you listen to for 12 minutes, and when you are done you need to sit in quiet for a while to just emotionally process what you've just heard. And serious props need to be extended to Buddy Miles on that one as well.
