JCM800 vs JCM900

I am looking at getting a 412 or 2 from somebody I know.

He has 5 JCM900s and 1JCM800 for sale.
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two cabs would be, if any?

I need to give him an answer by Sunday.

Not sure, depending on year. My old 1983 800 cab had 4x G12 -65s, so it said 260 watts. The 900s might be T75s? The 65s are very goold old speakers

Hi.
JCM900 cabinets usually has Celestion G12 75T (75W each speaker, lead model) and Celestion/ Marshall V30 (70W each speaker, vintage model).
JCM800 cabinets has Celestion G12 65 or Celestion G12 75T.

G12 65 and early G12 75T ( all black back sticker) sounds really similar IMHO.

All of them are in super nice condition. The wall of Marshall was more of a show piece for him than anything else.
I’m thinking about getting 2 b cabs.

My 900 1960B is one of my favorite cabs I’ve had a mic in front of, for recording. It has the 75T speakers…probably late 80s/ early 90s…watch out for the “switching jack plate”…mine failed suddenly, in an intermittent and spooky fashion.

What I like about the older 800s with the 65s is that you cannot buy those drivers anymore whereas T75 loaded cabs are very common.
So I vote for that. Harder to replace.

The 800 and the 900 cabs are identical except for the speakers and sometimes the jack in the back.
But they are built exactly the same.

I've also heard there is an extra brace under the front logo in the 900 cabinets....
