I would make those 500V - 630V, but the 400V ones passed a test so far...

Oh! Why didn't you say so at first? In that case, lets give it a Viking funeral...Lol being as its both the first Marshall and first tube amp I ever bought, I have some sentimental connection to it i suppose.

Honestly its had a bit of a wonky history over the past 2 years or so. It had the C8 capacitor and Bridge Rectifier 3 begin to go out and was in the early stages of trying to burn into the board. Kept dropping out the volume when it was under about 6 on the Master Volume at random. Would have to turn off the standby and turn it back on to get it to work if it was under 6. Changed those and the filter caps, held up good for a while. Changed all the pots on the preamp section cause they were really scratchy and changed the tubes out about this same time last year. Cleared that upOh! Why didn't you say so at first? In that case, lets give it a Viking funeral...

But seriously... When did the amp start behaving badly? How old are all the tubes, especially the phase inverter tube and power tubes?
If your lucky, this could be all related to natural tube failure.
Personal experience, Bro! For me, any of their 12AX7s always was a problem in V1 of a JCM800 2204 circuit. From excessive background noise to just not sounding right. And the pins of these tubes are on the thin side, which contributes to a loose feel in the sockets. Too many other tube brands, for maybe a dollar or two more than the JJ's, are much more consistent and just better overall product. On the other hand... I don't have a problem with JJ EL84 power tubes. And their EL34S is a badazz sounding EL34. Don't know much about it's reliability though!Lol not a fan i take it?
Your a good guy, Ramo...Just sell that and buy another one, they all look the same anyway![]()
