Jazzy strat players?

S5, I am lucky in that I was made to appreciate all types of playing and all types of instruments too.

I liked popular tunes as a wee boy, still remembering hearing oldies like How much is that doggie in the window and Raindrops keep falling on my head, all the way down to Smokin in the Boys room, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, IRON Man, Million Dollar babies etc. from the 70's. As my life experienced more, I got to hear recordings from many of the OLD and new Jazz players and then various genres of metal, etc. So I call myself lucky to have been alive to appreciate so many styles and offerings.

I've got two of his jazz books - volume 1 & 2.

Volume 1 was had way back during the time period my parents went to the local Music Workshop and they to my parents we ain't got anything else, he needs to go music college type thing. But, ya, wasn't happening for a poor boy from a poor family from the poor side of town type thing. Volume 2 I found a few years later. But, here's a pic of them now...

Which, now that I have a picture of them and I no longer use them, I guess now would be a good time to put them on craigslist - lol...

Look at what I found when I googled these books.

There is a lot packed into these books to say the least. The books aren't a speed read or youtube quick tip video to say the least. I've just held onto through out the years, about the only books of the many books, etc i've owned that I still have left. At one time a had a huge hand written amount of info, scales, diagrams, etc that I did thru out out the years. I think they got burned up, a lot of stuff, got burned up when we rented a house that turned out to be filled with mold and got all over most of our belongings. Moved in with a big ole u-haul truck and mini van - moved out with a loaded mini van - life happens, I guess...

I have experienced the mold before, and most recent scourge, Bed Bugs at my elderly mom's and younger sister's apartments. They are definitely of the Devil

It's all in music notation - no cd's or tab type thing.

Thanks, I do musical notes relatively well on the Piano or trumpet, as those were my initial instruments I learned to read music on. I was not as good with chords or the left hand bass notes on a piano.
Guitar of course requires some bass clef notes but not like a bass guitar does.

It is funny you mention Youtube,,,,,,,,,,, I really do find many good learning sources there. If Only I could train my hands to DO WHAT my EARS HEAR!!! I hear so much, yet always struggled to duplicate someone else's playing
