Easy choice...whichever bass is in the studio rack...

Both. Every song i record..for the song.. see what lays right ..its surprising at times. The J is an extremely fast neck.. notice an urgency in the mid punch in a jazz & a steady thump/deep in the P..love em both..

if i had my choice..would def play bass in a band. oh the things you can do to hold yer guitar player up & make him shine...

The answer is very is. One should have a P-bass, a J-bass, and a PJ-bass ;)

But, if I had to pick one bass it'd be a Gibson bass, probably one of the EB line.

Fretless even.................its a GAS GAS GAS BABY

1962 EBO with many "mods" from previous owners .....and me -----

I loaned my Thunderbird bass to my granddaughter and I'm missing having a bass. I've been using a midi keyboard for bass lines for recording but it just doesn't sound right. I've been thinking of getting a Squier Affinity PJ. I'm not a bass player. It would just be for adding a simple bass line to recorded songs. Any thoughts?

Check out the Thoman Harley BEnton stuff........(not taking away from Squire I have a few--- but --

and if you just wanna laydown some cheap tracks they have P basses starting at 97.00--this is the "step up" blacked out model for 109.00 lol

That said you may can score a SQUIRE for even less -- I have bought Pawn Shop "P" bass Squire Affinities for 50-60.00 SEVERAL times

Easy to get parts for or upgrades and typically with a good set up-- they all...........worked-- well ---
