J. Geils has probably meant more to me than any other guitar player. I've worn out two vinyl copies of "Live. Full House" and I'm working on the third. Van Halen made me want to play the guitar, but J. Geils showed me how I could make the most of my abilities. I'm forever grateful for that.
I just got out of bed, and the first thing I saw was a message om my phone from a friend saying J. Geils died. A bad start to the day, to say the least.
J. taught me the meaning of style in guitar playing. He was never a flash or fast player, but man, he had style and taste. His notes meant something. He definitely never got the recognition he deserved.
