I especially like the Corsair in your avatar.
I did cars but not airplanes.
I never had a problem with the left/right thing.
You have to imagine yourself to be inside the vehicle.
It's like mixing a live show.
No matter where you are you imagine yourself to back of house center.
The majority of people have problems with doing that.
I think it's called astroprojection?

I learned to fly in a fabric covered Stearman. I love anything to do with aircraft - model or otherwise.

Your pictures look like my father's house. Like you, he is really into RC planes. And of course his favorite, the corsair.
He made some from scratch in, I'd guess, the late 40's or 50's...Hes 81 now, and still has them. I'll have to snap a pic next time I'm there.
I'm sure you really enjoy them, as everyone I meet who does RC planes is very passionate about it. When I tell him about this, he'll smile.

Thanks Bocca69 that's part of what makes the hobby so great is being around the older Gents who have been in the hobby so long, they have a lot of knowledge and experience. I have learned much over the years from these fellas. And yes all the guys that I'm involved with in the hobby are passionate for sure. If you are able to get some pictures from your Father, I would certainly be happy to see them as well as other members here I'm sure.

Hey session, so I finally stopped by the ol man's house and snapped a few quick photos of the planes. They weren't really displayed for photos, but I took a few anyway.
He had a few dozen like yours, but the two that always catch my eye are his early creations........before they sold kits and arfs. I asked him about making them and he told me what he could remember. I love the stories.
This red one he said he made in 1952. Don't think it's taking off anytime soon, but it's so cool.
This one he said he made about 1960-63. He wasn't sure.
Like I said, the big guy is in his 80's, and now flying them is secondary to talking about them and helping others. His friends give him kits to build for them. He has actually given away half his collection to some guys at his club. He's a stand up guy who Loves aviation.
