Okay, so....
Thoughts on the JVM vs. the TSL?
Mostly summed up by this: they both absolutely rock!
It's like having two kids, they are a little different, mostly the same, and you love them both equally ha ha ha.
I find the JVM to have more gain on tap for sure.
They both have great tones and for the most part similar tones.
Obviously there are many more flavors to choose from with the JVM.
The TSL has always been my favorite amp and tone for standard and drop D tunings, always been my go to for recording and sounds a little better for passive pickups than actives.
So far my take is basically the JVM can do everything the TSL does, plus a few things more, such as the programmable footswitch! And 4 channels vs 3. It's a bit grittier and likes drop tunings better than the TSL. It's tighter too.
I don't know crap about clean tones, so I'm no help there.
I find the JVM to be a little more modern flavored.
I find the TSL to be a little smoother.
I'm no Euge V. or even Ola E, but those are my two cents worth for now anyhow, until I get a lot more hours with the JVM.
Maybe one day soon I'll compare and contrast the TSL, Mode Four, and JVM for fun!
I think the TSL is a hugely underestimated amp because it really is a middle ground between the 800,900,DSL single channel kind of ripper amps and the flagship JVM with all the bells and whistles.
