Same here. At 8, I did have a Chaz acoustic. The action was about an inch. I learned Mel Bay book 1: Over the meadow, Down the lane... I quit for 6 years.

Yea, my action was about the same lol! My fingers would be absolutely killing me by the 2nd hour or so of playing. Fortunately after about the 3rd time my dad came in with “wait..that’s YOU playing??” My parents figured out that it’s something I was actually going to stick with and I ended up getting a Squier Bullet. The electronics are crap but hey! That action is way better than that acoustic!! LOL

A Squier would have been a big step up from my Sears special. They didn't make Squiers back then.

Well I say the electronics are crap because the tone knobs are useless. There is no audible difference when you try to use them lol!! But hey, I was just happy to have an electric guitar and playing with distortion!
