It’s Going to Be Time to Hit the Eject Button

A few years ago I sold off about 85% of my equipment including guitars, amps and effects. This was due to us moving temporarily into a small NYC brownstone while we empty nested, lived like college kids, and planned out next move. There were some tough decisions but none that I regret too much other than my Variax modeling guitar which I'd love to have back.

Good luck with the purge @ibmorjamn In the end, they are just things and like I did, you may find you really didn't need all that stuff.

Of course now that we're back in a proper house with storage, I'll keep an eye on this space for some good deals. :D

Oh, pedals? That’s another story. I wish I had one that was the one I would never let go but the one I like more than most is one of the cheapest. The Bad Monkey.
The Boss SD-1 is decent. I had a 808, I think pedals are hyped up to much. No great one stands out to me but if there is one I’m not willing to invest in it or take out a loan. lol

Congratulations on your retirement

I just don’t want to. lol
I was old enough, wasn’t real sure if I could afford to stop working…. In the end, like you, just didn’t want to any more. 48 years mostly working full time (not counting some time off due to being laid off), I was mentally and emotionally done. Have not regretted it for one minute. Turns out even with my wife retiring a couple years after me…. I didn’t need to worry about “affording” it. While not independently wealthy, we’re getting along just fine.

Good to hear, thanks for the vote of confidence @iblive
I had to recalculate the end date and move it ahead 1 month.
