Is your small amp loud enough?

Yes.
All my amps are too loud really.
Home only player, so thats my perspective.

Even the 4-5w Champ is still too loud when cranked up into the sweet spot zone to play without being too intrusive on others in the home.
I had it cooking good last night for a couple of hours!!

Its nice to be able to run it where I want, and really ride that light crunch into OD with the guitar volume and dynamics, or push hard with a clean (ish) boost.
Theres something great also about finding that minimum setting that the amp will breathe at, anything below that lacks that certain presence that is not really about volume but oomph, and balls.

Lately at times I've had to play at low volume just using OD pedal.
It gives you the vibe, but its just so lifeless.

I just got one of those Kustom Defender 5H 5-watt heads (12AX7 + EL84, two controls -- volume and power,) and through the 1x12 I have, it's too damn loud unless it's turned way down into the clean region. I'm looking into an attenuator for it.

This is my practice amp Orange Crush 35Rt . Has lots of volume and will keep up with a band. For anyone needing a bedroom amp my Vox Rhythm 5 is a good one.DSC00056.JPG DSC00057.JPG

This is my Blackstar Fly 3. Great little amp I use at the campground . Don't let the size fool you sounds are good and you can make some noise from this little box.DSC00072.JPG

Referencing the title of the thread, I never worry if my small amps are loud enough.

Since I mic to the PA, I only care if my amp sounds good enough and if the PA is loud enough!

Yes I understand what you are saying. Right now for myself I have no reason to mic my amps. That's the ticket having your amps sound good, now that I have experimented in different amps I have found the ones that give me the tones I like.

I only have 3 amps but love them equally. Fender Champion 100, BugeraG20 with double matching cabs, "awesome amp", and a little Roland Micro Cube I keep under the table right next to my chair. I use it more than the other two, but works great....
