Interview:

Why?

Is your life inherently less meaningful than Robert’s just because you don’t make your living in the music industry?

Oh, no, I don't think so. I can only say that I feel blessed to have been able to do what I love.

I grew up in the music industry, which just happened, coming from a music family. I got my BMI registration number at 15, dropped out of high school (with the agreement that I would later go to adult school, which I did in 1985) and began earning a living playing the guitar.

When you work in this industry, you run into people. Sometimes, you never actually meet them, but somehow they know about you.

Sometimes my phone rings and I have no idea who is on the other end, but it ends up being someone who heard about me and wants me to work on their music project.

I built a reputation around being a punctual, dedicated team player. Those principles have done far more for me in this arena than skill.

I'm very blessed to be surrounded by good people who don't mind seeing someone else move forward in life.

Whenever possible, I try to do the same for those I encounter.

My post was meant to come across mirthful, not to be taken seriously.

Now on a serious note.
Is my life less meaningful? No, not less meaningful at all.
He is doing what he loves, there aren't many people who are that lucky.
I did not have the forture or maybe the insight when I was younger to pursue or even explore fully what I would love to do. I do what I do because it pays well enough to afford me some luxuries and I am extremely good at it, but I wouldnt call my career my "dream job".

So you get to go 8 miles (which is about 1 1/2 hour drive on the freeway in Cali from what I remember), then play guitar all day .... and get paid for it??!!??

We all need to analyze where we all went wrong with our career decisions.
And, you get the Fender Tour Jacket ($129.95 value) . Don't forget about the jacket and T-shirts.
These are just a few of the numerous executive perks.

Only took 40 minutes to get to the main factory in Corona this morning...35 miles away
