Incoming push...

Am I missing something in life with my lack of pedals?
I'm content with my tone straight from guitar to amp.
I don't even take em in trade any more, as I just flip em without even trying most.
None have made me play better, look better, lose weight, or buy me beer...
The only one that made me sound better was a tuner pedal.
An inline device with no tone coloration at all.

BUT, there is one I'd like to try.

Yes the hole IS deep.

lol-----I typically do not use pedals either-- I mean I have a Mesa --buwahahaha--(has gain and HEaven sent reverb built in)
HOWEVER I do HAVE a HOLY GRAIL pedal and a Compression -- a JOyo Ultimate Drive and a Nano Muff---for use with amps that dont say MESA on them -- lol

HOWEVER --- complete Disclosure
On the Subway blues I have been "trying" for the last week a "touch" of Muff........and -- I really like it---

Its a very SIMPLE one knob pedal--- and it ads JUST the slightest amount of hair-- (the subway blues does not have gain like the F30) so at low bedroom levels its either gloriously clean --- or ---well off---
but the little Nano Muff gives it that certain ----something

I figure your question is retorical, but I will answer anyway.

They are fun but mostly unnecessary. I do think that compressor pedals are underrated. I also think a clean boost pedal can be convenient. Dirt is hit or miss...if you like the sound of that particular pedal, it is gold. For anyone who does their own setups, a quality strobe tuner is a must to intonate. Peterson even has a clip-on strobe that is very accurate.

I've probably said this more than once on TTR, but I can remember going to Lang's TV repair and service, that also sold a few music things, and ordering one of the original Muff's from a paper catalog via Lang's TV, waiting for it to arrive at Lang's, then walking down town to Lang's to get, walk back home to use it (up hill both ways of course) and...

Now I regret ever getting rid of the pedal as I remember it being awesome...

No internet back in them thar'n days. No AC, no cable, and more often than not no phone at my house ;)
But, there was always a shotgun, rifle, bow & arrow, old cheap motorcycle, fishing poles, the creeks/ponds/lakes/rivers/woods to enjoy them at, or a guitar around...
Know what, I think the world was far better off then and that way ;)

I'm getting these particular pedals for one amp. And it does well with pedals. I haven't bought a pedal for a few years cause what I have is good to go. The plus side is I save some hearing by being able to play at a lower level...I just love a vintage circuit unwound. I do have an attenuater but don't prefer the result over a nice OD pedal pushing the front. In most cases.:hmmm:

I still will play loud. Where I live I can without getting in trouble. It's DB's lower than straight into amp and I dig the flavors/feel of a good pedal.

I just got turned on to LPD pedals so I'll let ya's know how they do.

Pettyjohns got some cool pedals too. 9V power that boost to 36V through a dual rail system built in.

The hole got deeper for sure.o_O

Yeah kind of have a thing for those Dutch bastards. Thinking about trying one of their little bass heads as well.
I have one. It’s ok...kinda hi-fi...I like it for what it is...portable, clean, and fairly loud. It has the “tone-print” thing goin on too. Plays ok with pedals.

Back on topic.... @Pissed Plexi ....nice find! Good pedals make for good fun! Good luck! I look forward to hearing how you do!
