Traded off the Gibson R8 that I really wanted, but ended up not caring for. It was a fine guitar, but no better than my Standard and at twice the price...

So I got this guitar on the way and I got a nice chunk of needed CASH in the deal!

Very very nice. Love the root beer color. Those Artinger semi are beautiful handmade guitars. Enjoy it.

That is beautiful!! I love Koa. I am not familiar with the brand. More pics when you get it please!!

Beautiful! Really nice. Hows it play?

Funny you say that about the R8. I had wanted one so bad, and when I finally went and started playing a few I just couldn't understand how they were (really) any different than my Traditional. Didn't play better, didn't sound better, didn't necessarily even look better but they were twice the price. I passed, and glad I did because it left the money free for something special when the opportunity came along.

MAy I inquire how many lbs of pot can one smuggle in that storage area of the case?!?!?!?! I mean poop looks like you could fit half a damn BALE in there!!!!!:GetHigh::H5: seriously whats that for storing your Marshall stack ??????? ---perhaps a hooker and a bag of coke? --- I mean it looks bigger than Smittys Chevy Sonic!!!!
Love ya Schmitlap ;)

It's in the mail...so not sure about play-ability yet...

You made a wise decision on the R8. I wanted one so bad and I was not impressed. I like the sound on my Trad much better and it has a fantastic flame top!

Compare...

R8 $4200
Trad $2000

Traditional 's are great guitars. I really like my 2012 with a burstbucker 1 in the neck & a Vineham 60/70 T top (overwound to 8.8k) in the bridge. Thinking of putting a T top in the neck too. Was slightly dark sounding so I did the Faber tone lock conversion (ABRL bridge & locking aluminum tailpiece) that really changed it for the better. Cheers

Yes, surprises me that more people aren't using them, really good pickups IMO. What I like with these slightly overwound ones in the bridge is they'll balance up well with a stock T top in the neck. Or on the bridge only, roll the volume back around 8 & they are just like a stock T top in the bridge, with that little extra in reserve. Vineham are really well priced too, & well made. Cheers

So you have this and the rosewood tele next week and the custom build soon after? Wow, this will be dizzying!!
