Wanted to start this thread as a canvas of sorts. I been using my Blackstar for all my recent musical projects, including a recent audition.

I'm going to pick some simple song, or progression, and record both amps, back-to-back, and see if we can hear a difference.

Suggestions???

This would be my first pick:

But, if for some strange, weird and perverse reason that song's not for you then how about this simple classic (you said simple song to rock over!):

Or even:

You know you want to glam it up a bit!

Where I have always found modeling amps lose the plot quickest is with dynamic, medium-gain tones, where you're working the volume control a lot and letting chords ring a bit. Try something like Ramble On. But it has to be a 1-to-1 comparison to mean anything; you have to record them both through the same cab with the same mic, etc. Can't plug the modeler directly in and mic the tube amp and compare that way as it's bananas to asparagus.

Right! Both amps have a line out so it would definitely be an apples to apples comparison.
