I'm Screwed:

Inspector #20

Over a year together and our #3 guitar player leaves abruptly. These are fairly wealthy people who are either retired or self-employed. Several vacation in Roatan and Belize. They get bored with scheduling and commitment.

They are not lean and hunger like me who wants this to be a 6 day a week commitment.

Suddenly, I find myself needing to learn his parts to 40 songs in less than a week. Some of these songs I have to play and sing simultaneously, which is a huge responsibility and is something that I'm admittedly out of practice on.

Additionally, I'm now having to completely re-do my rig to produce different sounds and volume levels. On most of these songs, I am the first instrument that kicks off the song and I have to learn all the solos.

To say this is stressful is an understatement. I want to produce a superior product and I just don't feel like I have the time to pull it off. Playing is not as tough as the playing and singing simultaneously.

I'm stressing thinking about going live tomorrow without a net...

Sucks, what got me into guitar 5 years ago..bass player for long time.
.guitarist quit with studio time booked..CD was wrote... decided to learn guitar, 3 months later,, in the studio. When the desire is there..you will rise to the top. Live..embrace the only guitarist position..it';s all i know

Clean
Crunch
lead pop

focus on enjoying the audience...

place yourself in the zone & you might be surprised how darn good the mix opens up. yeah a 2 guitar attack will be dif & dual lines cant happen..but if ya got a real bass player..it's on !!

oh you got 3 guitars? i just saw the pic & i thought you meant 3rd guitar player in and out of the band & not the current 3 in a band. quick band practice, you got this for sure

you are an excellent musician and geetar player.
this is what youve been practicing for all those years.
you can absolutely do it....IF you get to work and get the hell off the internet for awhile.
youre gonna do just fine.
and if you make mistakes, nobody but you gives a crap.

Well, bless you, kind Sir

We are all sitting here on break on the balcony messing with our phones. I am texting the guy sitting across from me... :-)

you will crush it with no mercy, have faith in you and do it all for rock and roll. the outcome will give you the experiance to move forward.

I'm thinking of doing the singing for my band and playing same time ( I have a hard time doing both same times) as it's getting annoying searching for a singer....

I get replay for my ads I replay back and they fall off the radar.

Thanks for all the encouragement.

Yes. We have been a 3 guitar band since day one. That feature allowed one guitarist to take on keyboard parts and gave me greater flexibility to sing more complex songs and not have to play/sing simultaneously.

Been going over our songlist and I'm feeling pretty good about everything thus far except Sweet Home Alabama. I still need to work out the solos!!!!
