Not this time, unfortunately.
Not sure what the Intercourse. The music just does not flow lately, don't have the slightest idea why. But it's bothersome.

How do you guys get past "writer's block"?

I've tried what seems like everything under the sun.

I've even suggested that we start doing covers just in order to keep playing.

We don't even want to do covers, lol

When you try to write it will never happen if you force it it will be generic poop. In my case I just play and practice what i know, and in between riff comes and build from there.

At one point when I was trying to memorize scale patterns, riffs were falling out of nowhere, and I would mix an match parts and then a song would emerge..
I think I need to go back to that recipe !!
Some hard rocking stuff came out , and a bunch of mediocre crap as well.

Exactly. That's all we've been able to come up with lately is generic garbage.
Part of it, I think in theory anyway, is that we haven't been playing by ourselves very much. We used to both bring individual ideas to the table that we came up with while playing alone. The other thing is that a former "bandmate" came and took one of the mics....which isn't a huge deal in itself, except I had otherwise recently been working on some vocal stuff and it kept me playing while dicking around with my terrible voice.

Dunno. Just spitballin' ideas as to why this is happening right now, when there is abundant inspiration for angry, dark music? One would think that a metalhead would be most productive during these unsavory times lol
