Ill just

Alright, I’ve done my homework now….yep…that was pretty wild. I’m still gonna noodle with the Kemper…because some of the profiles really sound good. I’m still gonna keep my amps…because they really sound good.
Conclusion? There is no real wrong in this argument (?) anymore. If it sounds good, play on.

I appreciate modelers for versatility and convenience. And these days they can produce great tone.
But even if they sound exactly the same after recording, I love the feel of tubes when you play.

There's no doubt that the disadvantages of tubes are many and significant.
They wear out and that necessitates replacement & rebiasing.
Big tube amps are bulky and the transformers make them really heavy.
They certainly can't reproduce the tones of a hundred different amps like a modeler can.
Not to mention the many virtual cabs & speakers and various different virtual mics.
A classic tube rig basically has one inherent sound; even channel switchers mostly just give you a varaiation on that core tone.

On top of all that, only three factories in the world today are manufacturing tubes. There are far fewer choices than before and the modern ones aren't great compared to those made when the whole world ran on tubes. The dwindling supplies of great old NOS tubes are becoming ridiculously expensive. Even the cheaper brands of old ones (still better than what's being produced today) are pricey now. And the situation it isn't going to get any better.

Despite all that, there's something different about the way a tube amp responds under your fingers.
It bounces and breathes and responds to your touch in a way modelers just can't duplicate. Yet.

Leave this here ... so you all can NOT listen (because you never do ) and post your opinions carte blanche .... have fun

You know I watch them! Don't you? I bet that's why you posted it. You knew I was off to bed and now you're keeping me up! Sneaky...

They are hard to tell apart. I preferd the Victory, but mostly because of the reverb, I think the Quad needed a touch more.

I listened. It's impressive but still no substitute for a real amp, at least not for me, and definitely not for the price of admission.
Many Tube amps are built to last forever.

Digital is at best temporary, and will soon be obsolete...
It's great for people who can't play guitar I guess (?)
I'm sure it has some uses...
Why do you want to "sound like" something else that you are not?
Is originality going out of style now?

I'm not changing to a digital / modeling / profiling anything.
And neither will the professional guitarists I know either.

I'll just leave this here for people's to have a look see, since I don't think many here are aware of MI Audio amps.
Cheers
