It’s kind of like a pre amp and attenuated but you can capture the amp and use it digitally.I don't see what it's really doing that the interface can't do, iBs, except it looks like it hosts plugins of it own. Seems like marketing here TBO.
Sending proper instrument impedance level back to an amp for reamping is something that a standard interface doesn’t do. Interface outputs are line level, not instrument level.I don't see what it's really doing that the interface can't do, iBs, except it looks like it hosts plugins of it own. Exactly. There are other models…stage boxes mostly…but they’re all in the $ range of the IK box…and the IK box has software to do some of the lifting for the end user. Much less likely to overload an amp input circuit.A more expensive option for the lunchbox
Seen it before, but a perfect example of a real application for reamping. I’ve poked around with it over the years. The Kemper really provided some access to it for me. It’s a great reason to throw a DI box in front of a guitar rig, and capture that ugly track for reamping later. It is kind of a studio thing Reamping a dry recorded signal out to a different amp. My all time favorite example is the comparison of the 6505 and 6505+ . Brutal amplification.
Looks sexy as well! I guess I never understood what reamp means. Lol.Sending proper instrument impedance level back to an amp for reamping is something that a standard interface doesn’t do. Interface outputs are line level, not instrument level.
This is a bargain reamping passive box…
The IK box professes to have a few more bells and whistles. Another alternative is a Kemper, but that’s an investment. You can build something DIY to achieve this, but requires knowledge and skill….along with the equipment to verify proper levels are sent to the amp.
It’s all another wall of voodoo….
Yeah, actual “re-amping” is usually done along the lines of:Looks sexy as well! I guess I never understood what reamp means. Lol.
Looks like it has uses for modeling physical amps that would then become available for future use in recording. It looked interesting, I probably have no use for it. It is however less than a captor x.
I bought one a while back. Have not used it yet but the thought was to be able to take a dry track and send it out and add any pedal effect and re-record the new track. I know there are a bazillion plug ins that could do that but thought is nice to add any pedal(s) to a track.A more expensive option for the lunchbox

I have a solution to that rack.I bought one a while back. Have not used it yet but the thought was to be able to take a dry track and send it out and add any pedal effect and re-record the new track.
