Totally agree, just so weird they would intentionally mislabel it, then post a pic of the serial number.Definitely not from the new Inspired by Gibson line just based on the year alone. The clipped-ear headstock has now been replaced with the classic Epi headstock from the 60s for the new models since JC took over. They most certainly did just copy-paste the verbage from advertising materials for that particular listing. Not that it matters really.... as long as it plays well.
Many Epis are the first guitar a new player will ever own. Since 80% of those beginners will give up within a year a lot of them end up as closet classics. Probably given as a gift to someone who never played it and now years later, during a pandemic, decided to let it go to pay rent or something like that.
