If You Play A P-90 Or Another Single Coil Guitar.....

I guess I am blessed in that I dont record---I dont have to fit a mold-- please a crowd or play anything other than what I want when i want.
I have P90's --I love them they have a tone a Humbucker cant get-
IU have single coil Fender style pups--love those too -- they have a voice all their own
Ive got buckers-- bucker shaped P90's --TV jones copies---Mini hums---and several versions of WTF ever SUPERFERRITE PEAVEY pickups are /...who knows -- all types of bass pups-- including ACTIVE ones--but they sound AWESOME
some hum-- some dont--- some hum a little some are damn near annoying.....
but they all have character and vibe --

IF they all were identical----sure wouldnt need all these guitars.....and that --- would be a shame............

Really agree with this^^^
I have become attached to the many different characteristics that I get from my different guitars and pickups.
Some of them aren’t the quietest things out there...but a noise gate, used sensibly, usually keeps things in check.
I do record a bit, and understand gating, and noise reduction, pretty well.
I like the idea of a minimal footprint solution to 60 cycle...something that’s non software. As long as it’s noninvasive...or less invasive than software.
Shopping now....

If I played as much as I used to, I'd be totally willing to give this a try for live stuff.

I don't know what they're doing to condition the power at Q Division or Mad Oak in Boston, but I've never had to deal with bad hum while recording. That was with P-90 Gibsons (mine) and Epiphones (theirs, from the '60s), or my Fenders and Rickenbackers.

It seems like a very useful tool. I won't dismiss it for what it is.
