Honestly, if only one guitar could be chosen, by far it would be my spray can yellow, 1982 Fender Stratocaster.

Its super versatile, with a bulletproof tremolo, a broad spectrum humbucker and twin single coil tones, plus the Stratocaster design is the least likely to be damaged by being dropped or knocked over.

The unfinished neck is now worn to a high polish from hundreds of recording sessions and many, many hours of stage time.

@Don O has both seen it and played it.

Hate to be the dissenter….. but it’d have to be my acoustic. No amp needed. Play anywhere. Any time.

If I could only have one, I'd probably vote PRS if there were a spot for them in the poll.
Comfortable necks, well-thought-out design, and versatile tonewise.
My overall favorite since the 80s.
An HSS Strat has a lot going for it too, though...

Gotta say, after all these years I can't imagine not having at least one Les Paul, one Strat, and one PRS.
I would miss korina slab guitars, Teles, and a few boutique axes, but I could do without if necessary.

My Original vote was this, AND despite not being a multiple thousand $ Double Cut guitar, it is an exceptional instrument. Smitty knows why I like it, and Gball and likely Bdon knows who plays similar guit fiddles that made me a fan. Hint, he is from Canada.
