I am not a relic fan either, but I have a 3 tone finish body and I can't stand the 3 tone paint look.
My other option is to paint it Black and do a Gilmour replica, but I already have a Gilmour Strat...

There is just so much work (and Talent) involved in a re-paint. Fire is quick, easy and FUN!

A propane torch may look like I had a plan...I just want Ronson Lighter Fluid and a towel handy to smother the fire when I think it's enough.

It will be somewhat controlled but not by my hand on a torch. If the burn looks bad I can always do a little sanding and paint over it.

A couple coats of Black and it'll be a Gilmour over Hendrix Strat!
