I like the Rat2 I have it is a way cool pedal. I saw a used "You Dirty Rat" used which I plugged in and just had to get. I've been using it quite a bit lately. It seems to pull out some great tones from my LP Standard with bb pros. The YDR is even nicer than the Rat2. I got lucky with this one. Who ever let it go allowed me to land an excellent dirt pedal. It works very cherry with a wah before it as well.

Yes they are! Proco makes a bunch of different versions of the original. They also make some great industrial grade cabling used in the music industry. I played an original earlier Rat a little while back and it was pretty weak to my ears. It must have been a lemon and that is probably the reason the owner offed it to GC. Most people who have an original Rat tend to rave about how boss they are.

Glad you are getting familiar with the RAT. It's such a versatile pedal and is chock full of tone. It sounds awesome through the earbuds I use with my Micro Terror when playing at home!

My favourite distortion pedal on the planet.

How's a RAT sound with a 490 SG and a 68 Bassman?

I had the 2 channels linked on the Bassman, deep switch off and bright switch on. The volumes were about 6.5 on the normal channel and about 55 on the bass.

The RAT was volume on 10 (I use the pedal the whole song so may as well crank it!), the filter about 10:00 and the distortion at ust past noon.

To me, THAT'S why I love the RAT.
Congratulations on getting a great drive sound in your arsenal!

That your band Shreddy ??? Sounds great.Really liked the song to.

That's my old band Johnny. We never made any money but sure had fun writing songs and playing shows for a few years.

I find this song is a good representation of the ultimate RAT sound for my ears.

Thanks for the compliment Bro!

Shred, the tune is pretty slammin' cool! I'm a Micro Terror fan as well, if I would have known about the Dark Micro Terror ahead of time, I would have waited. I got my MT with some cash knocked off because it was a floor model. The JJ ECC83 it came with sounds bitchen. I've also ran a NOS Phillips 12AX7 in it as well. Cheers!

I love the Micro Terror! I changed the tube in mine for an unmarked one I had. I tried out a few different tubes but the "mystery" tube seemed to have the most clean head room. As you already know, I use a RAT for raunch so I want as much head room as possible. Plugged into my 2x12 cab I built, this amp delivers stage worthy volume and tone. The only reason I would want a Micro Dark is because of the effects loop. The regular old Micro Terror has more than enough gain for me.
