Identifying a Gibson LP

I think I'll pull the trigger and grab it. Getting it for a good price I believe. Buying used LP's is a bit of concern nowadays(for me anyway) with all the changes to models and the fakes about, so I am grateful for the info provided.
Ill be waiting

Sorry -- I have issues

Yea pretty close. I am bringing it home to try it it before I buy it.
He is not the original owner though.
He bought it 2nd hand from a guitar shop in Sydney about 10 years ago.
I would be better if you could post a lot more pictures, with close-ups of all the details.
Pictures of the inside pickup holes, and inside the control cavity too.
From here it looks pretty real, but you need to look closer.

FYI - the "Plus" means it has nicer than average flame; these are often called "plus top" guitars.
That one's a nice color.

I have a 2006 Traditional Plus. It's pretty but it weighs 9 lbs.

PS: I've seen combination locks on Gibson USA logo cases; they may have been standard on the deluxe brown ones for quite a while.
Several of my brown rectangular cases - Firebird, Thunderbird, and Explorer - have combo locks.

Not positive that would've been the original issue case for this guitar. Then again, I'm not sure it wasn't.

Either way, they're really nice cases.

Brown Explorer case with combo lock far right:

combo lock on this Thunderbird case is behind the shroud, but the spring clasp is visible on the open lid:

LOVE THAT BIRD!!!!
Thanks. Custom ordered it in Deep Impact Blue, a Ford color. I used to have a '71 Camaro which had been repainted in that shade. Fastest and most fun-to-drive of any car I ever owned. Its power made it a nightmare in the rain or snow though.

Eventually fell victim to a flood. Still a bit sentimental about it.
So now I have a bass that color.

Its name is Thunderbeast.
