IBANEZ STRAT KILLER!?!?!?!?

Ahh, yes...

The Japanese company with a Spanish name that everyone mispronounces!

Interestingly, toward the end, the video took an interesting turn with him comparing directly to the Fender Stratocaster on the wall behind him and determining the (real) Strat is still probably better for some sounds. In some points, the sound (at least on my computer here) was almost exactly the same as the Strat.

I've never seen this guy. I'll have to watch more of him.

wait YOU ACTUALLLY WATCHED THE VIDEO?!?!?!
no one does that they just shoot off half cocked opinions and bitch about life lost....etc etc ..... none of them even FOUND THE NAKED GIRL at the end of the other video --- interesting............. someone did the homework.................

Well done Lad! Sorry no hidden naked girl in this one ;)

and I concur on the Jackson with you ......................my Jackson Adrian Smith (now in @Robert Herndon s neck of the woods) was EXCELLENT and every bit as good for less $ than my MIM Fender strat

Conversely my USA MADE PEAVEY Strat -- is as good or better than a USA strat and it was a ........are you ready for this ??? WHOPPING 200.00 ..... USA MADE blackie strat -- maple neck -- '

Yeah. I like this guy’s attitude.

Thanks for posting. I like the way he presents things. He seems to take less of a “versus” approach, but more of a comparison approach.

That's what I'm saying. My Jackson even plays better than my USA Tele radio did. I thought I hated 25.5 inch scale guitars. It was just the guitars! I can't hardly tell with the Jackson. I can easily switch from a Les Paul to the Jackson. If you want a cheap starting point for a mod platform you really can't go wrong.

I have to say, unless only a Fender is good enough, an Ibanez, Schecter, Jackson, Charvelle and probably quite a few others will completely kick a Fender's hiney. I can't believe how much better my $219 Jackson is than my $699 Fender Strat.

Exactly why I'm gigging and recording with a Les Paul Replica and the same reason the Kris Derrig and Max Baranet Replicas were so sought after. The basic build and critical dimensions were more accurate than all 5 of my genuine Gibson's.

I was chatting recently with the local Gibson warranty guy and just so happened to have my fake Les Paul with me, so I let him look at it.

He broke out his magnifying hood and rulers and just started measuring everything. After a few minutes he told me, "Wow. The fret placement and scale length is right on the money. This is better than anything I'm seeing come out of Gibson right now.."

Functionality trumps blind loyalty to any brand.

The Indo Jackson gave me zero problems.

I've become very partial to this guitar:

I just played a private event at the Fender factory in Corona and it was the only guitar I took with me and I never play without a backup.

The MIJ Strats are definitely a quality piece. But, yeah, I agree about the Fender hardware. I’ve never had any complaints about it. I use the original, stock, two-point bridge on mine and I don’t see a need to replace it. I have contemplated swapping the sustain block out for something heavier, like a brass block. But, I don’t know how much of that is real and how much is hype.

Good points. I made a brass block only because the stock zinc block was cracking and deformity where the ball ends were trying to pull through it.

I made brass saddles because the stock, Fender stamped saddles were getting grooved, but I cannot claim a tone improvement from either one.

Perhaps, that is a good argument for using a brass block. It may not provide a meaningful tone improvement, but it may be more durable?

My Stratocaster came stock with the die-cast saddles, not the stamped saddles. Supposedly, the stamped saddles provide more of “that” Strat tone. I DO know the die-cast saddles are way more comfortable for palm muting. My son has the stamped saddles on his Strat. I definitely prefer mine for feel. I’ve seen the brass saddles you made. They look nice!
