I'm glad AMS is here im not done with the knowledge he has to offer
I was lucky enough to be invited here by him, just a couple days ago. He was helping me fix my amp too.

Wow, the level of giving and his expertise, is large with AMS. I would buy him a steak dinner for the help he's offering me. But he might be more like, come on man, lets not get all stuffy, just fire up the best sticky icky, some cold brews, order favorite delivery, and lets jam the night away, with our great working guitar rigs! hehe

He'd probably appreciate cold hard cash more, but that's the thing, he just helps others, and doesn't look for anything in return. I have already learned how to bias my amp and other things from him. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Also humbling, and a good example to follow. It's gotta be nice to know he's a positive constructive part of other people's life.

The world will be different, when AMS is gone. There probably will not be many like him to quickly fill in his space. He lived his life, so that it counts, for the better. I admire that greatly and that is a big part of my life. I require that my life have significant meaning. I want to make the world a better place to be, or my life did not have the meaning I require. I live for causes bigger than myself, and I dare to follow passion and dreams.

The world is better, when we help each other. I believe we all have greatness inside, something great or beautiful or uniquely from you, to help the world be somehow better. I refuse to be a sum zero, so that when I pass on, the masses will just replace me like I was never really missing. No, I must help make this world a better place to be, or my life's meaning, was not realized. We the people deserve so much better. Bravo AMS for all you have done. The positive constructive change involved, must be significant.

Good to see others also showing respect.

I see ampmads thread was hijacked by a mod to be his own thread
WTF
Yeah, he told me the same thing. He said that thread, became the largest thread in it's history, and then they booted him off it and kept it as their own. Talk about hijacking low lifes. I posted to keep them accountable, including the police and they took down my post too. I don't care to honor bigotry.

I just don't think that it should have gone that way. It should have been left as ampmads regardless of banning him from his own thread. I do like most of the guys there but it's really felling like high school more than normal. I haven't contributed to MF in some time because of some newer and older members. I wont leave the forum but may not post much

Another thing to keep in mind: that forum is much larger than this one is, and because of that the culture is quite different. I get along with most people there pretty well, but I often keep my opinion to myself, especially regarding hotbutton subjects.

You've done some good work over there dude, I would hate to see you go for real.....how many 2k series amps have you helped repair over there again? A lot.

It was like 15 or so.

It was the ultimate thread hijack, largest in history :rolf::rolf::rolf: the penultimate hijack.

I'm still registered at all the other sites. Once in a while, I might drop something at ETSG because that was the first forum I joined many, many years ago. Sometimes, I also like to see if there is any cool luthier stuff at MLP, because I learned so much from those guys. I mainly hang out here, which is not often. Occasionally look at recent posts during my lunch break, then pop in after I've done a bunch of other stuff around the house, and really only post if I think I have something worthy of contribution.

Lately, since I'm not wasting money at the pub during the evening while my wife is at work, I'm coming home to work on projects to finally get them knocked out. They actually are. The cellar renovation should be done in time for the transformers from Merren to arrive, and I can start my amp build. I'll also have some garage repairs and repainting to do. As well as new electric circuits. I'm actually enjoying not traveling for work for a change, and having my wife home helping with stuff. She is on furlough until August 1, so we also get to see each other for a change. And like Hackmaster, I've lost some weight not eating bar room food. I do most of my food shopping at a farm not far from me. We also have a good source for fresh locally caught seafood since we're only 1/2 mile from the North Atlantic.

It's funny, back around 2008 I started a thread at ETSG titled "How much time do you spend actually playing your guitar compared to being on guitar forums?" Some of the older guys had a big howl over it. For some, the sarcasm was lost. Just thought of that old thread now, and try to remind myself to take care of the real life before going into the virtual word. Just like when my wife asks if I've seen any of her FB posts. I have to remind her that I actually have to work while I'm working, and can not be looking at the internet. It's all fun, just in different ways.

Do you live in Salem? There is awesome seafood I know.

I liked the Marshall forum overall, but for the pipsqueakly repression. :pound-hand:

I'm across the harbor, in Beverly. Still awesome seafood, but without the crazies in September and October. Bob from DST Engineering is not far from me, and Jeff is at the other end of town. Still a short walk to the water and fresh fish.

Can I come live in your garage?

sorry that was Pidgin.
Can I please come over and live in your garage?
