I've been playing around with the 2019 LE Special Vibrola and enjoying it much.



I might need another guitar, maybe an amp too. I'm thinking of a 61' SG and perhaps a nice 1w or 5w amp for home use. Any thoughts?

The 61 has the neck instability but it never bothered me that much.
It's a lot better w/humbucking PUs and nylon bridge saddles....
the Dicky Betts setup is the best one. I wouldn't want the stop tailpiece.

That's the best one.

I need a five watt amp w/ a 12 inch speaker.
the problem with little amps ---- is the little speaker.

I do like the vibrola as in your pic - I've really enjoyed that in my Special.

A thin veneer '61 with the vintage cherry would do me just fine.




I've never seen this one before, but seems fantastic.

I have a 61 with stop tail and love it.
I hear good things about the Marshall 5CR, always wanted a little amp to play around with but havent really researched much.

A 1 watt Marshall would be a great pairing..

SG Standard (Modern collection, batwing pickguard, for the chunkier neck and alternate style) and a DSL-1cr would be my choice with those parameters.

'61 SG/Les Paul Standard style with humbuckers are great guitars. They have a nice snarl to them, regardless of the tailpiece. I would suggest a better tailpiece than mine, although mine doesn't give me issues.
