I saw there was no Gibson @ Namm, is it time for Taps?

Maybe not...NAMM is a huge expense that may not be needed when you consider 90% of Gibson sales are based on history and Norlin Era/Relic instrument reputation/phenomena...

Agreed.

How many people really wouldn't know about Gibson if they aren't at NAMM? Even as a fledgling guitar player many years ago, I knew about Gibson long before I ever even heard of a thing called, "NAMM."

NAMM is for the vendors, not the consumers. I knew the names Fender and Gibson in the 5th grade.

Who cares! Henry J. is running Gibson into it's own grave. It serves them right for over-pricing their guitars and not being a bit more innovative. At least their Epiphone line produce descent guitars for a lot less. There are other guitar companies maybe not as big as Gibson or Fender that produce high quality guitars for a better price.
