I ride my bicycle...

Felt like I could try a first "real" ride since hospital. Did a bit of gardening in the morning and decided I could try to pull off a run to Mud bay.
Left around 11am in shorts and a t-shirt with a temp of 17C, so a tad brisk in the shade but perfect in the sun.

The encroaching blackberries made it entertaining in short sleeves...

Perfect day...

Tall grass, and no puddles...

This BNSF train was halted and being visited by a couple of employees that showed up in a van...

Blackberries are getting tall too...

View of the train from an overpass. Went on for quite a bit behind as well...

Maybe the cyclist should move to the side a bit... freakin' road hog!

Tide in or out, it's good to be here...

Yes, it's dry...

NOT DEAD YET! :D

Nice day today, although a bit odd for mid July at only 18C, a bit cloudy and windy. Went for road ride and headed east...

Train tracks cutting through Surrey...

Busy on King George Hwy...

How many "Binfaces" do you "Count"?

Looking north towards "Central City" area in Surrey...

On the Greenway heading west towards home. These zig-zag crossings are common...

Getting ready for some games tomorrow...

Another nice day, and after some chores decided to get out to enjoy it.
My mileage has been severely lacking this year due to some health interruptions so everything helps.
Headed out to grab some supplies...

Grabbing said supplies...

Decided to carry on and access the Greenway at the local ice arena. Not a lot of action there...

After all of the flooding there are numerous areas where new large gravel deposits have been laid. Gotta watch it, they are loose!

Went around a "Trail closed" marker, and this is what things turned into...

Saw a girl on a Heybike try this skinny feature. Didn't go well. Down she went into the mud/pool...

Ended up turning around as the trail truly was blocked off...

The exit/entrance to the Greenway is now a small trail at the end of the pub parking lot...

Decided today to do my grocery shopping run on the bike.
Left home at a beautiful 20C with my panniers and a backpack.

Local community garden is lookin' good...

Nice bike lane on the route...

Now it's time for a game of Tetris...

Success! Glad I took the backpack. It was required...

Final downhill to home...

This weekend was lousy weather for the most part, but I did get out for a quick run to the barber on Saturday, and a short run around the hood.

A look back at a nasty hill I just climbed...

An overpass crossing Nordel Way looking West...

Sunday was a write off with rain all day so I decided to commute to the office today.
Started out a bit misty and tried to rain but never caught on.
Busy intersection...

Through local streets...

Now on River Road...

Gets busier with larger trucks starting here...

The final stretch to the office about 3 blocks away...

Fairly relaxed ride averaging 20km/h with a few picture stops. 30 mins total to do 10.5 kms.

Was expecting rain on/off all day and did not think a ride would be possible. It was raining heavily when I got up.
Two hours later the clouds parted, and instead of getting into the car for a shopping trip I hopped on the bike instead.
Logistics dictated the route. Left the first stop of getting some clothing...

Then the second stop was grabbing some new bath towels. Both the clothing and towels fit easily into my backpack...

Really glad I decided to take the bike. The traffic was heavy, parking lots full, and very busy...

Third stop to grab a two-four of Sneaky Weasel beer, so I transferred the towels to the pannier, expanded the top of the Topeak bag for the clothing, and then the backpack easily took the two-four...

Busy busy...

Finally onto a quieter road with a decent bike lane...

Into a park where newly poured concrete pads are laid and covered because of the recent rain. I suppose they will host some park benches...

Then the path behind/around Sungod Arena/pool...

Three blocks from home...

Windy, but beautiful!
