I'm just curious. I have a 250w 4x12 guitar cab with a 100w amp head. Would it damage my speakers any of I played bass through my guitar amp head and cab? I'm in the process of getting a new bass rig but haven't been able to get it yet. And I know I wont get my low bass frequencies but typically I set a tone up for alot of mids and some treble with some bass for the thickness. I'll be playing progressive music is why. But I just wanted to make sure I wont blow my speakers or damage my amp head.

my Plexi makes a heck of a bass amp...i would watch the excursion..the throw of the bass on a guitar speaker..know i pull & pop those strings alot on bass & it is so percussive in comparison to a guitar. Super low volume is possible..but i wouldnt chance it with my good guitar speakers...at any kind of volume.

If you are recording...DI can be a way to capture

There is some danger of tearing up speakers that are unable to reproduce the frequencies that are fed to them. Keep it down, volume wise, and bass tone wise.
That said, I often play bass through guitar heads to feed a bass speaker cab. In fact, I kinda like my Orange Tiny Terror more for bass these days.

Yes, be very careful with the guitar cab. You won't hurt the head a bit, but my 412 stack didn't like the cone excursion one bit. Just keep it quiet and you will be fine.
