I need a 15 to 20 watt amp...

I did buy my sister in law a Friedman Runt 20 combo sounds descent cheaper than I could build one and it cuts through the mix just fine.

To each his own if you want a substandard clean sound and a buzz saw overdrive tone go with the DSL15C and support communism go for it.

Lmao well not everyone can scare up the extra gravy for a Friedman at $1500 for a lunchbox, but $600 is reasonable for most looking for small portability. Every Marshall I own was built in good ol Milton Keynes, UK but the DSL and Origin lines built in Vietnam are quite fine amps overall and thus, are more than worthy of their namesake.

But i digress: if I'm shelling out $1500 or close to that: its NEVER going to be anything under 45w minimum, as you can very easily score a full 100w British built Marshall for that price and skip the middle man modding it in North Hollywood. And i promise it wont just cut thru the mix, rather slash it open with the surgical precision of a doctor's scalpel.

But to each their own!

I love my DSL, its buzzsaw chaga chaga all day.... Gary Holt form Exodus/Slayer he used DSL before switching to Jubilee.... ( if its good enough for him , its good enough for me) Friedmans are cool but way over my what I can afford... In the end Friedmans are mod'ed Marshalls anyway :)

As long as you keep the build to a pretty standard JCM800 circuit ( fx loop wont affect it) you could always use one of those Hot Mod V2s or Lynch Mods in your build and still keep it cheaper
 
Don't get me wrong I like Marshall's think I have around ten of them now love the 1967 Black Flag 50 watt super lead
Park 75 most are 100 watt 4 input super leads. My first Marshall was a 1979 2204 JMP MK2 50 watt full stack 8 x 12"
then My guitar teacher Mike Mongiello let me show you a cool trick with Marshall's WHAT only two inputs it should have 4 inputs
so I got a 1968 super lead 100 1959 Mike showed me the jumper the channels trick good bye 1979 2204

Ampero is a processor. He’s using the 50 watt jumpered Marshall model in the Ampero processor and using his studio monitors for the audio.
