I replaced a cracked power socket in my Super Champ, but when I put it in, I inverted the wires. I played it a while like this and I noticed the sound was getting distorted. That's when I realized.

Reconnected correctly, but the sound is still distorted and volume is down quite a bit. What did I damage ?

uhm...............I dont know but
HEY ONE OF YOU AMP GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEEEEEELLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If something went wrong because of reversed power wires it would most likely be the input power transformer...but A/C being a sine wave I'm not sure it would damage it??? Did you just flip the two main wires or was the 3rd ground wire involved?

Got any pictures of the input showing where the wires in question feed to?

Which wires did you switch around (pin numbers) and on what tube? Sucks when stuff likes that happens, but it happens. Welcome to the "been there done that club" ;)

Main ones only were flipped.

Not tubes, but the power cord receptacle. Black plastic plug in the back of the amp. Had to replace it and flipped the power wires, ground stayed in the middle.
