I LOVE Frank Zappa...

"Is that a Real Poncho, I mean a Mexican Poncho, or is that a Sears Poncho???"

"Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a Dental Floss Tycoon"

Saw the Joe's Garage tour and years later, Ship arriving too late to save a drowning witch tour. He played nothing from the SATLTSADW album. He said into the mic the album sucked so he was going to play his old standards. He brought his youngest son out on stage and played a song the kid wrote called, "Dirty Little Frogs."

I saw him first in 1974 I believe. Robin Trower opened for him and it was incredible! Saw him again in 1975 and then again in 1976. I saw him 3 more times in the 80's and then he was gone...

No one came close to him on guitar for me...I just loved everything about him. My mom had everyone of his albums from 1967 on and I listened to them all!

There are many references to the area where I live in the Billy the Mountain song. It mentions Roseamond which is about 15 miles north of me. It also references
Edwards Air Force Base where Franks Dad worked. I also worked there.

Frank went to High School at Antelope Valley High in Palmdale!

I know so little of Frank Zappa I had to Google him.
Hope he got better after that bicycle performance :-(
I watched with interest some vids of his boy, very likeable and well spoken.

Frank was an Icon in the music world! He also addressed congress on free speech and fought against the explicit lyrics labeling of music.

Been a fan since the mid 70's when I got the Apostrophe album.
Live from the Fillmore is a great album.
So is Just another band from LA, with Billy the Mountain on it.
Always a great bunch of musicians on any Zappa album.
My wife got to go see him live in Chicago in the late 70's. Lucky chick.
