I know I bought a Fender Tube amp!

I am always late for dinner . I live out of the vending machines at the bottom of a stair case out side my office. They have Pop Tarts and those snow ball things. Very festive dinners. A couple cans of Coke.
Welcome to the diabetic club!

All my blood work comes back great. I run a full standard work up and a few add on items to check for two reasons. I do it my self for free and second because I can. I amaze myself with some of my fantastic numbers. Oat meal is the key to pulling off my young man numbers. I am low in D because I have not seen the sun in ages and I won't drink milk. I have corrected problems before they happened. I check everything once a month. Most never or once a year. I check my cats too.

They don’t excel at anything but they do most everything pretty good if that makes sense.
Very curious to know how this stacks up to a JCM2000 DSL 50H. Mainly the green channel. After X-mas I am hoping to squeeze another Marshall in. Was also thinking about the DSL15H since I don't really need much more. Or just bite the bullet and buy another DSL50?

Very nice Kevin. I bought 1 of those as my 1st amp for $350 off craigslist. I wasn't into all the pedal thing yet and was looking for gain so it got swapped for a Laney AOR50 Combo. Now that I am into some pedals if I didn't have the TSA that would be where I would be looking honestly.

I am hoping it comes today. They are very popular and I need reliable at this point. There are always back up amps. A break down is a super unprofessional mess. It takes time for the sound guy and myself to get it up and running again. After my Gretsch came apart on stage, I check my guitar from top to strap buttons. I never work with one of my experiments. I paid $370 from a guy that really did not use the thing. The original tubes are in it and I wonder if they might be better than the new military JJs I have or the Tung Sol I just bought. I value your opinion if you would share.

Mine actually were changed out right before I got it with JJ's. I didn't keep it that long as it was either off or loud AF for home use lol. If I recall right I spent $90 to ship that thing! The one thing it reminded me of when I 1st plugged into it was my 1st amp. It was given to me by my bus driver. A ratted up 70's Silverface Super Reverb. That Fender warmness. Your making me want a real Fender now even though my TSA does a nice job for home use. I used the HRD clean and only had a couple pedals at the time...couple T-rex pedals I got on clearance. I also went straight for a bright red Charvel model 4 like my 1st guitar I worked hard to buy....brand new 80's Kramer Striker, back then I wanted a Charvel. Hell I want another Charvel Model I don't GAF! I don't regret any gear swapping though. I wouldn't have never been able to try so much gear out over the years to really find what I like. Old Fenders.....DSL50 Green channel....SG's....Charvel's. Also I do not think you know but that thing is a heavy monster compared to the Laney AOR 50 & JCM800 1x12 combo's.

88AF10AE-E72D-4CF3-9934-EA236ADC4F5A.JPG I always go back to Fender Amps and Gibson Les Paul's. Yep Stratocasters were always there like ice cream in the refrigerator. My 1969 Les Paul and My 1965 335 both came from the old German guy across the street. Every one thought he was a SS officer in hiding but he gave me a good deal on those guitars. I bought a Fender Black Face monster from a jazz guitar player a block or two away. I would play any gig just for fun. I did country fairs, and joke how that amp would blow the stink off the farmers daughter. It was too loud for indoor use so I swapping it for a Vox AC 30 made in 1969.
I kept that thing for years and just sold it a year or two ago. I had other amps too but the Vox was great and my go to amp. I always had a Fender amp like the Mustang II that I got sick of and I have a Pro 1000 head with a tube preamp and sold State power amp. It is a serious 100 watts ear troubles. I normally take that to our " Roof Top Concert " in New York City on several rooftops of Beatles Music. I didn't go this past year and I wonder if I can do it next. That crazy amp might go and thin out the heard on guitars too. Just keep my 10 favorites. I will probably just blindly change the tubes in the in coming Fender. This is my Ultimate Chorus, another monster.

IMG_6411.JPG Amp came and it sat in my front yard for a couple of hours. The guy put it in a big refrigerator box and that is all. Plop in it and it bounced around all the way from the Cheese State for a couple days.
The worst packing job ever. I am going to wait a few hours to light it up. Let the frost get off it. Lina was pissed because a neighbor called about the big box and said I could live in that box out front and should move it around back. She said an abandoned car would be better for the winter. Lina cut the top off the box and talked dirty the whole time. I got credit for doing things to myself that I never imagined.

Just got done moddin the #3 Silkyn! Sold #1 to Bud Purvine. Had the transformer done earlier, but forgot to hook up the Ground & smoked a bias cap. Decided to get off my duff & get it finished. Basic (bluesax) mods including reverb. Fabulous Fender type clean channel, smooth Dirt channel, Gosh Darn, I really like these amps. Balls when you need it..Sweet tone when you don't. Thanks Kev for turning a bunch of us on to them! Off topic I know..By the way, you look way too relaxed sitting in that recliner.

I'm sure the Fender will work good. Looks good sitting there.

Yes I am! I played earlier tonight at a local club. I played last night till late, the band I work for was put together by my Chinese girl friend that speaks with an Irish accent. Very freaky and Saturday I get off when they get too funky for my taste. I am going to finish up my Monoprice 15 watt amp and I might finish the Silkyn. This Fender is beautiful, better than any amp I had in long long time.
I stopped missing my Vox AC30 after the first set. I had to open it up too loud to see what it had. I am thrilled with it. I will sell the Silkyn but I need to play it one last week to make sure it doesn't blow up again.

Nice man! Glad it made it safe. That guy could have added some extra bubble wrap and weight if he would have cut the box down to a smaller size on top of gave a little extra protection & probably saved a little on shipping. I have a illegitimate black cat just like that. He just showed up one day a week ago and went straight for a bowl of rain water and drank alot. He hasn't come in the house yet but we feed it and make sure it has fresh water on the back porch now :)

We had a lot of those homies cats in our neighborhood. I feed them and but cat bed until the patio chaires. We could never get close enough to pet them. There is a group that is into wild cats rights, like getting them the right to vote and use the same bathroom as dogs. They caught all but one and her name was momma cat. The boys loved her and she had in 5 years about 15 litters. Every one had one of her kittens. She was taken out of action by a bus. I am a spainiel and Benz man but I have three cats and a BMW. So it goes and yes I told that guy if he has sex like he packs an amp he will never get it in. He told me I was correct and his wife left and took most of the packing tape. He blamed the failure of his marriage on his wife's loose flaps. I thought I was the only one with a bad box, the UPS guy handled it better than the seller. I like the amp.

lol my brother just traded his V8 Benz in. Was nice but he traded it in on a Porsche Cayenne Thursday. I wanted to buy the Benz but am remodeling my house ATM and have enough toys...lol

I had the 6.3 V8 and it loved fast. I picked it up in Germany drove it around and sent it back to New York or they did it was apart of the deal. I wanted to go fast on the Autobahn, A27 north to the North Sea but every ten minutes it seemed like a wreck happened. They sent the information over short wave then and cars had the correct radio in them. It would just send a basket truck if the over head pilot said no hope or life possible and then an ambulance would go. Every wreck took forever and I know I still drove over guts. Fastest I got was 60 miles per hour.

Hey kevinpaul, if you're not gonna use your Silkyn transformer, I've just found that my roommate seems to have misplaced mine...I tore my Silkyn down tonight, went looking for it, and it's just nowhere to be found. Like magic. 12 pounds of iron in a 6 inch cardboard cube addressed to me and never opened...gone.

Sooo...I guess I'm asking if you want to get rid of it.
If not, no biggie...I'm creative, and will build something else in to it.
