I usually enjoy a catchy title that leads you to wonder what's inside, but not this time. I am simply too blown away. So I will say it again. I played Roy Buchanan's guitar.

I owe a big thaks to my friend Guy at All Music in Plainview, NY for being cool enough to allow this instrument to be displayed in his store for all to enjoy and for taking it out of the showcase for me to handle. He has lots of cool guitars that I will put in another thread.

I also got to play a guitar that was signed and played by Steve Vai while the Roy B guitar hung behind me. I feel like I was at a comobo museam and Disney Land!!

Here is a link regarding the auction and history of the Roy B guitar.

That is massively cool! Roy B may have been the best guitarist most people never heard of. I am totally envious of you Ray.

What did you play? I assume you have bought a lot of shizzle from the guy over the years which was why he was willing to pamper you.

Actually, he is just a fellow guitar lover. I think he took pleasure in seeing me light up like a child. But yes, I have bought a few great guitars from him, such as my Gibson CS336 and my Spalted maple tele

I love spalted maple. Beautiful wood I would love to find a useable piece that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

So, RVA, I gotta ask...why, precisely, did you keep the tie on?

I mean, c'mon man. I wear the monkey suit to work, too, but that tie is coming off when there are cool guitars to play!

Just ribbing you, dude. Looks like a very special time!
